Penn Township supervisors have taken decisive action by approving a new ordinance aimed at regulating short-term rentals more stringently. This legislation specifically targets non-owner-occupied rental properties, a response to increasing complaints from residents regarding disturbances and potential illegal activities associated with these rentals.

Addressing Resident Complaints and "Party House" Concerns

The ordinance was introduced following numerous reports from neighbors who expressed concerns about short-term rentals being utilized as "party houses." Township Manager Mark Hiester highlighted that these properties have frequently hosted large gatherings, often accompanied by loud music and significant littering.
